The main intake is September, with a smaller January intake at some institutions. Applications for most programmes run through Campus France and open well ahead of the start date, so begin roughly a year out.

Work Rights and Costs on the Ground

A master's graduate can apply for a post-study work authorisation of up to two years. Living outside Paris changes the budget substantially — €700–€1,000 a month against €1,200–€2,000 in the capital.

France Student Visa — What Actually Matters

Fee exemptions exist but are tightly limited: no more than 10% of students will be exempted, mostly scholarship holders and hardship cases.
